A Companion's Choice

Creating Heralds and being Chosen by a Companion is the primary focus of our RP Game, Groveborne. As such, players are strongly encouraged to have at least one Herald character in order to fully experience the game and our events. For young characters and their writers who would like Groveborne Admins to create a companion for them, this is the place! You don't have to wait for us to write one for you in order to be Chosen, of course, but we thought this might be a fun add-on!
Your new companion will come with a name, stats, age and a brief set of personality traits to match their human Herald and what they may have been in their previous life. It is up to you to flesh out the character! If you wish to have your character chosen in this manner, simply create your character and post his/her/their profile for approval HERE, and once stamped, post back here (you will find the form below!) in this thread with a link to the profile.
Bonuses for having a staff-made companion; roll for the chance of your companion starting with an extra skill or trait bonus.

Choice Requirements
- Potential Herald character must be a human between the ages of 14 and 30
- Must have some sort of Gift manifested (note: the manifestation of a Gift is usually what triggers a Companion's Choice, but not always. If you roll a 'No Gift' but still want to make a Herald, assume rudimentary mindspeech when in trance)
- Does NOT have to be Valdemaran (though most are)
- Must be of sound moral principle. Companions are, for all intents and purposes, holy spirits. They WILL NOT choose someone evil or debased. It is possible for a herald to become insane after being chosen, usually as a result of trauma and/or grief. This typically results in death for both Herald and Companion.
- Must have ability to ride a horse and discharge the duties of a Herald at the time of Choosing.
- Create a non-Herald character in the appropriate age bracket, post them HERE for approval.
- Once approved, think about how you want them to be Chosen.
